About Nicole Koch
I was raised in the suburbs of San Francisco as the daughter of a flight attendant mom. As a result, I backpacked the world, first solo, then with my husband Scott, hitting over 50 countries, many multiple times by age 40. I always said if I had kids, they’d also be students of the world. Fortunately, that dream became a reality when we packed up our kids at 4, 6 and 8 and moved to Nosara, Costa Rica where we lived for 4 years.
Traveling, big nature, surfing, skiing, cold showers, moving too much, surviving lyme disease and just plain living out of my comfort zone are my yoga. They expand my perspective and demand that I remain ever-present and connected to my intuition.
To me yoga has LITTLE to do with pretty poses and EVERYTHING to do with understanding who we are at our core and how we connect to the world around us.
Practicing yoga since the 90’s and slated to take my first training in 2005, pregnancy and progeny intervened for the next decade of my life. It wasn’t until 3 children later and a teacher who relentlessly pestered me to take my practice to the next level, that I ultimately received my first of many certifications in 2013.
Since then I’ve expanded my scope, receiving my 500-hour advanced yoga training, exploring Reiki, Qi Gong, Breath work, flow states and becoming certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. In addition to my in-depth, lived experience, I continue to attend workshops, lectures and devour my library of books on all things healing.
